Two Toronto residents were accused of stealing $25,000 worth of diamond earrings from a shopping world jewelry store in April.
Police in the Peel area said they arrested two suspects in June 5 and charged them with theft in April 8 and December.
28 in a store in missisoga Dixie Mall, 20 Samsung phones were stolen.
Video surveillance photos were released by police.
The owner of the store said a man and a woman had distracted the staff and stole the jewelry.
The owner, who declined to be named, said the man came first and said he was waiting for his wife.
When employees are with other customers, they reach out over the counter, enter the display case and remove the earrings.
Soon after they left, the store staff noticed the theft.
"They have a great plan," said the owner . ".
"They just hang around and look at the earrings and say they don't need help…" he said . . . . . . " The store changed the way things were done.
"You study every day," he said . "
He said it's normal recently.

"It's happening everywhere . . . . . . They became very bold.
Both 50-year-old Paul Dixon and 46-year-old Tammy Van Becker face two charges of theft, each of which exceeds $5,000.
